Trade Up events are organized to bring trade experts in various fields, from home construction to auto-mechanics, who are willing to share their experience with the goal of developing new tradespeople in the community.

Students will be presented the information in a formatted manner that includes some exposure to hands-on use of tools and materials. The formatting of the class ensures topics such as codes, safety, and best practices are all included. Participation in these classes fosters community while enhancing individual skill and confidence, and provides occasions to participate in future networking events and job opportunities.

Trade Up’s goal for community is to strengthen the individual’s ability to care for their property, whether by performing work themselves or by hiring a trade professional.

Individuals, not necessarily on a career path, are encouraged to follow the students and take classes themselves and thereby learn more of the trades while also meeting trade professionals who are active in the community. This will allow for direct interaction with professionals who can answer questions and instill confidence.
